ABOUT US

HandmadeCeramicTiles.com is a designer and manufacturer of decorative wall-tiles, borders, murals, mosaics and such 2D-items made of clay. Wholly-owned by keceramics manufacturing which has been creating and supplying quality ceramic handicrafts since 1993, HandmadeCeramicTiles.com is focused on the custom-design and bulk-supply of 100% handmade clay-tiles for the interior design, architectural and building construction fraternity of Malaysia and beyond. 

HandmadeCeramicTiles.com was initiated with the launch of its pilot collection BeruntungTiles in April 2004. BeruntungTiles were designed by making use of recycled green-colored empty bottles which were crushed into pieces and then melted down at high temperature to highlight the tile’s design motives against the natural sandy tones of the fired clay. BeruntungTiles came in sizes of 2x2” only, and also showcased crackled glaze effects as one of their main design features. The crackled glazed effects mixed with the crushed green glasses are synonymous characteristics of the centuries-old and ever-popular celadon-glazing, hence elevating BeruntungTiles to hopefully similar ‘ancient’ stature against today’s contemporary preferences. The modern geometric motives used however, would make the tiles appealing to both old & modern at heart.

BeruntungTiles were applied to bath mirrors, bath walls, pool edges, wall fountain, art corners and kitchen backdrops during our pilot project of a bungalow house in Bukit Beruntung. Over a short period of time, the green were occasionally replaced by brown-colored crushed glasses, the tile-size became bigger & the thickness thickened, and the tiles were no longer squarish but turned leafy instead!

Other undertakings that were pursued later on involved the creations of tiles and such items with rough-unfinished-looks, embossed design motives, metallic-finishes, tinted-art-glazing, handpainted detailings, and a few more intricate handiworks. HandmadeCeramicTiles.com now produces handmade tiles and such items of various sizes, shapes, colours and finishes according to your design preferences and our technical know-hows in manual production of high quality clay items since 1993.
